5 Gallon RFA Tank

Hey all,

After owning a Biocube for over a year, I was wanting to own another tank! Immediately I was thinking of doing a 125 gallon tank but then after doing some research and finding things around my house I decided to do a 5 gallon Rock Flower Anenome tank.

I do have a 5 gallon AIO that I bought years ago, although it’s filthy. I also have dry rock and sand so realistically I would need to buy a light.

But thinking of it I wanted to upgrade the return pump, just one problem… seems like I can’t find a small enough one. So suggestions would be great!

I have cleaned the tank with a vinegar mixture and aquascaped it. For now it is cycling. I am doing a pure ammonia cycle.

Looks great for the return I would try and find a mini 606 pump popular with the 5G Fluval Evos/Spec tanks. Depending on where in the world you are would depend on manufacturer name

Actually think I found one a couple days ago. It’s called the Sicce Syncra Nano pump. I’ll be doing a part list soon

I own two of these tanks that I used for freshwater planted. The whole design of that compartment is flawed, it's even worse for saltwater as it draws water from the bottom. There are also no good pumps small enought to fit in that space.

You can remove the back compartment pretty easily. It is just siliconed in and the silicone can be cut with a razor.

You'll have more add more volume and can just add a canister or HOB filter.

I was actually a bit worried about this as well, but I was also debating wether to make more slits to the top of the compartment. Return pump wise the one I found would fit, if I did my dimensions right.

but if all else fails it’s good to know I can easily take it off l!

Hi everyone!
So the tank is finny cycled pretty quick and never used any bottle bacteria!

I have also purchased and received some dry goods for the tank so now I will be making a hardware list.

Hardware List….
- Top fin retreat 5 gallon aquarium
- Cobalt aquatics 50 watt heater
- Inkbird temperature controller
- Sicce Syncra nano pump
- AI Prime 16 lights
- a small ato?

That would be all for now but some pictures of the tank we all the new hardware.
