chasingcorals17
Yes, they're crap, I know lol. But it's what I'm rolling with right now. Does anyone know if you hold the vial against the card or just hover over it? Because it generates two very different readings as you can see below. What do you guys think nitrates are at? This is two days after a water change and light feeding One up against the card, and one hovering over it Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
You need the light to pass through it, the darker colour is shadowing. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
MrP
I have always read them against the card. I compared The API nitrate test with a Salifert nitrate test and the readings were similar if the API vial was against the card. 1 Quote Link to comment
Nixperience
With API, it’s best to hold it in the position that shows the most favorable results 🤣 1 1 Quote Link to comment
RaymondNoodles
The API instructions say “The tube should be viewed in a well-lit area against the white area of the card”. Others have reached out to API for confirmation and have been told the same…the vial should be touching the card. 1 Quote Link to comment
