Jakesaw Posted January 6, 2022 Share Posted January 6, 2022 No specific name, but it looks to me what I categorize as an encrusting coral. I've got an orange encrusting coral with tiny black dots all over it that covers a piece or frag rock and grew to spread over tile it came on. Eventually I'll put it on an isolated rock in the sand bed and let it grow to fully cover that rock for color in my tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
mcarroll Posted January 6, 2022 Share Posted January 6, 2022 I think I agree that it's an encrusting "chalice coral"....which unfortunately is another made up hobby category like "SPS" or "LPS" and does't do anything useful to ID your coral. Can you post a good overhead shot of it? Without more to go on, I'll guess that it might be an Oxypora. Google something like "chalice coral pictures" to see the other types. 1 Quote Link to comment
