Proxo
I'm guessing Bryopsis pennata? I've been fighting it to the point i've given up, i don't think putting my tank in the heart of chernobyl will even kill it. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jaren45
I would agree, you can see the broad "fan" tips on the ends. Flucanozole has worked for me in the past, not just for bryopsis but bubble algae too. Some people don't like the idea of dosing chemicals to kill something, but in the 4 times i've used the product i've never seen anything react negatively, even up to a 4x recommended dose. Cheers i'll look into that, i've tried hydrogen peroxide on that rock in the picture, killed most the zoa but the algae came back after few week lol. - I'm moving the tank soon so might set up a few smaller tanks to fight this stuff before returning corals etc to the main display after it's moved. Nothing else required. Use force...something like a screwdriver or something to let you scrape real good. I hope you got that frag for free cuz that's a lot of work for a cruddy little zoo frag. Depending on your position and your feelings about this, that frag might not be worth recovering. That's mix of hair, turf and bryopsis...at least that's my guess. Can you post a full tank pic and tell us more about the tank, including a full set of test results (ca, alk, mg, no3, po4, salinity, temp)? Pls and thx! 🙂 Do not waste more time or even chemicals on this.... Quote Link to comment
