1st reef
2 questions.. 1-When I got it last week, I placed it on the substrate and 2 days later it was at least double the size. I decided to glue him on top of a rock. Since then he stays small. Too much light? I have current orbit marine and my whites are at 27% blue 100% now since I thought maybe it's because of too much light. When he was on the bottom, light were W70% B100%. Should I just leave him where he is and let him adjust? 2-, I fragged a zoa I had on my gsp. What type is it? Last pic is without blue lights. Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
The mushroom won't like it up top.. they don't need s lot of light.. on the sand it would have spread out to catch the light, up top it's being slammed with light... Move it back down onto the sand.. that's where my mushroom cove is Second.. the zoa needs to be under blue light to ID it properly. But it looks like it could be a Spiderman (assuming it's a red skirt and blue disk) Quote Link to comment
1st reef
What if I turn the rock on its side? It'll be about 3"lower. Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
To be honest mate, it will move itself anyway of it's not happy. You can't glue them down. Let it find it's own place.. hopefully not ina spot you can't see it Quote Link to comment
1st reef
Well... I moved it back on the substrate. I'll just leave it there and let it do its thing. Quote Link to comment
1st reef
Does it need to be on a rock for it to multiply? Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
Yeah. If it doesn't like where it is now, it will detach and float around until it finds somewhere it does like. I have them all over the place. It can take a while for them to split or drop new mushrooms to begin with but once they are settled they can be pretty aggressive in how quick they multiply...
