garye5007
I have a Biocube 16 LED with live sand, dead rock wavemaker, and 2 clowns. Not a reef tank (yet) waiting to mature. DT is around 10 weeks old and doing fine. I want to add a cleaner shrimp and I have read as many posts saying you don't have to quarantine as that you do anything that's wet. anywhere from after it molts to 72 days... Should I?? If I do quarantine, can I just use a 5 gal that I have with a HOB filter or a sponge with a air pump. And for how long (really). Thanks for any advice! Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
I just bought one at petco last week. Temp. acclimated by floating the closed bag about 20minutes. Dump most of the bag water down the sink drain, added tank water to the bag so I could gently release the shrimp into the tank right away. Did not drip acclimate. Callie the cleaner shrimp is thriving so far. 2 Quote Link to comment
blasterman
Shrimp don't carry covid. /sarcasm Float the bag for 20 minutes and let him lose. I always feed shrimp scraps of food in young tanks because there's nothing to forage. 1 Quote Link to comment

Tamberav
Ich can encyst on a shrimp. It really depends how careful you want to be. I would not QT one unless I had a cycled/appropriate tank for it though. Quote Link to comment
