pmemmer
OK, so my Gulf live rock came with two rock urchins... they're awesome, but they've grown a ton very quickly, and my little nano just can't sustain them both. I'd like to try to re-home the larger of them, but since I've never handled an urchin before, and my googling basically turned up things like "how to get spines out of your feet" and "how to safely cook them," I thought I'd ask if anyone has any tips for safely getting an urchin out of a tank. Do they come off the rock with a little gentle prodding, or do they clamp on there like larger snails do? Will heavy gloves do the trick, or do I need something else? Pic of the urchin in question, for reference. Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
With mine i waited until it was on the glass and did the credit card trick (slide a card between the glass and the foot - gently) to make it let go and caught it while wearing blue gloves 3 Quote Link to comment
