brown growth like a polyp that never seems to close and I don’t think it is aptasia.

But it does look a lot like an aptasia.

Pocking it with a stick don't close it ?

Could it just be a brown gsp polyp?

🤨 GSP polyp seems to have 8 tentacles. Your brown thing have more than 8.

Definitely looks like a pest nem to me, probably aiptasia, but there should be some things you can check and be sure:

If you poke it, does it retract quickly and does it leave any kind of stalk/shell/tube or does it just roll down into a little outie belly button thing.  Quickly and the latter is a nem.

Has it moved to a different place?  Yes is a nem.

I was thinking a majano anemone (still considered a pest).

If it is a majano how should I get rid of it

Any of the aiptasia methods should work.  For example, Aptasia X or super gluing over it after it has retracted; they even sell majano wands.  If trying to kit it; I might touch it, so that it retracts, and then use superglue gel to cover over it.

That said (and the fact that they are usually considered a pest), some people decide to keep majano anemones.  They are not quite as bad as aiptasia.
