Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

your are already at its max level ...

I was speaking of the fact that the level of the water in the back section of the Eshopps S is already hight.

If you have no problem for waterfall noise you could just obstruct the lower part of your overflow grid. Attention, since the water level in your tank might be higher than the water level in the back of the Eshopps S, you should test it for flood.

The other way to raise the level is too increase the flow of your return pump. More flow = more water needing to go through the grill = higher water level because that increases the area available to the water to follow out. You'd be surprised how effectively you can 'tune' the height of the tank water with a controllable dc return pump.

The valve on the overflow is only for tuning the noise level of the back chamber. You'll notice the water level in the back compartment is below the tank water level. Also, the water in the back chamber should never be much higher than the red pipe, as mentioned by others. There should be NO valve on the red pipe outlet as this pipe is your flood insurance if something were to plug the drain without the red pipe.

Also, remember to test a power outage after any change to your overflow. All the water in the tank that is above the lowest point of the grill needs space in the sump when your return pump quits/looses power.

Ok thanks alot guys. Im switching it over to a 12g long so Ill replump it and leave red pipe valveless and also try obstructing the overflow intake and or increasing the waterflow of the return pump.
