Xj reefing
Today I counted up how much all the coral in my tank was worth and it came to approximately 1,003 dollars. I also lost the red trachy overnight. I don’t know what happened. 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Yesterday I bought 1 chromis and some more corals. The corals are 3 more zoa frags, a pocillopora and a acan. The chromis is called peep as he goes into a cave and peeps around the rock to see if it is safe to come out. 2 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Peep is doing great. He eats like a absolute pig. Everything in the tank looks great and is really healthy. 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Just a small update today. I received some corals that I ordered online and they look really great. I received a scoly, a Goni and a hammer. The hammer and Goni look pretty much like they do in real life compared to my polyp-lab lens filter but the scoly looks 1000 times better with the filter. I am going to pick up some reef roids tomorrow so hopefully I am able to get the scoly to really show off it’s colours. 1 Quote Link to comment
Grapple
I have been locked out of my other account (xj reefing) so I will be continuing to use nano reef under this account. The new corals are looking great and yesterday I added a molly to the tank after 6 hours of acclimation. Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Never mind I was able to get the account back 1 Quote Link to comment

Cutbow
Have you reached your max bio load? Or could you add a couple more chromis to have a school? Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
I am planning to add a yellow coris wrasse, carpenters flasher wrasse and a lubboks flasher wrasse and then my stock list will be don and will probably be at max bio load 2 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
My lfs has a yellow coris wrasse and is holding it for me as it currently has a white blotch on one side so the owner wants to see if it clears up or turns into a infection. 1 Quote Link to comment

Do you expect any trouble from having 3 different wrasses in the tank? Quote Link to comment

That huge multicolor hammer garden and the scoly look fantastic! I been wanting to try one of the big fleshy corals but the prices right now seems a little steep. 1 hour ago, TatorTaco said: I know that I'd like a yellow corris wrasse in my 250. R2R had a big compatibility chart for wrasses if your planning on keeping multiple together. Generally, you are fine keeping flashers and fairys together. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

I am not expecting any trouble from the flasher and fairy as @DevilDuck said but I am interested to see if the yellow coris is going to behave. It should be fine but I might get one that’s more aggressive than others. Quote Link to comment

Any other awesome flowcharts over there I should be looking at to improve my husbandry? Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Today I picked up the yellow coris wrasse my lfs was qting and so far he is doing good. He dove into the sand bed about 30 mins before feeding which is a bit annoying as I have read that they go to bed at the same time each night. Is this true? The molly now has a chunk of its tail missing so it might not last long in the tank if it’s being picked on. At what point should I try to put it back in freshwater or should I at all or just leave it? It seems like a lot of bad stiff has happened this week as I found that my torch is looking crap and my rainbow favia has lost all the bottom row of heads thanks to a fungus sort of thing. My lfs owner thought that the torch and favia might be fighting since they are sorta close together but I don’t have anywhere to move either them. Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
One of my lfs opened a second store yesterday so today I went to check it out and got some bargains. I bought a hammer for 90 that was worth 140, scoly for 80 and probably worth a lot more, monti for 30 and 2 mushrooms for 10. I moved all my zoas up to my frag rack so that I could put my scolys on the rock together and I am trying to find a branch rock to put them on. 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
My salinity is now back down to 1.025 after being up at 1.030. I bought 3 new corals today and they are yet to come out so I will take pictures when they do. Yesterday I bought 2 new rock 1 ended up as a zoa garden and the other now has the new acans I bought. The new corals are 2 acans and 1 lobo Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
New corals are doing great and are extremely colourful. First photo is the hammer garden rearranged. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Not too much to update on the tank.last weekend I bought a new hammer with gold stems and light blue heads and a rainbow fungia. I don’t have any pictures yet though. I dont think my lfs has had any luck with finding a carpenters or lubboks wrasse but I will have to check today. If they haven’t there is one about 40 mins away that has 2 of both so I will probably go up there and bring them back to my regular to qt them. 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Just a small update on the fish. I went to the lfs 40 mins away and got them. My usual lfs did not have any room left to qt them as some other customers wanted their fish done. I set up a little 20 litre/ 5 gallon tank for them as they are both around 1 1/2 to 2 inches. I have put in some media from the 250 and just got a sponge filter. They also have some pvc pipes to hide in. So far they are still a bit stressed out. Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Forgot to take pictures of the qt set up but I will do in the morning as their lights are of now. I managed to get a shot at the lubboks after nudging it because I thought it was dead. (It’s still alive). I can’t get one of the carpenters though 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Bothe wrasse are doing good and swimming around now. Looking good to add them on Friday Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
I was finally able to get some good shots of the flasher wrasse which I know believe to be a yellow fin flasher instead of a carpenters. Either way it is still a really beautiful fish. 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Fish are out of qt and in the tank. The blue light makes them look not as colourful but it is fun to look around for them. Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Some updates on some corals. I bought a hot pink Goni that has not yet come out to its full potential as when it starts to open I’m guessing my blenny swims over it and pisses it if. My red scoly has some stripes of faint green and is even developing some purple. One of my acans and favias are not looking so good so I need to figure out what to do with them. Quote Link to comment
