SO I have a bit of an issue with Aiptasia in the tank at the moment, I thought i cleared them all a few weeks maybe a month ago with Aiptasia X but it appears that I seem to have missed some or didnt get them completely covered in the solution.

 

So I am looking into the possibility of a Filefish, ideally a white spot Filefish or a young Juvenile Matted Filefish and will look to move this one or transfer to the Lionfish Lair once it outgrows the Evo.

 

The Other option available to me is the Berghia Nudibranches but I am not sure how I feel about losing the population once the food source has been eradicated. 

 

I will most likely spend the next couple of weeks spot treating the Aips that I notice while hunting down either the Nudis or the Fish

Done a small amount of maintenance tonight in the tank, mostly gha plucking. Will siphon sand bed tomorrow and replace lost water

 

Ebenezer is still doing well as you can see.

Well sadly today I got home from work and found Vergis blowing in the current. R.I.P little shrimpy.

 

Had her nearly a year and gutted, no idea what the issue was. She ate very well, moulted successfully and has been extremely active the last few weeks

So been thinking about what to do with this tank now that the main occupant has passed. I'm considering bringing home the RSM 130D still and just condensing everything into this single tank at home.

I start a new job on Monday 5th September so the RSM will have to come home regardless, or be given away (f#ck that) looking at my current energy bill and the wattage hours of the RSM and EVO i definately cannot afford to keep both tanks with the upcoming prices rises (2nd of the year)

I think you might have mentioned the new job, but I forgot. Congratulations if I didn't say so before. 

Makes sense since you have to move it anyway. I completely understand about the expense and time required to keep multiple tanks going. Hope the move goes well.

Everything moved from the Fluval to the "temporary tank" including the lighting just until I get the RSM Home. Then will decide on a direction and sort out my spares. 

 

 

mentioning spares I have a few now  so decided that I wanted to try a wild Betta Species so set up this little thing for some Betta Api Api and a small fry tank

Going to move the TV and unit upstairs to make room for the RSM130D since I only really use the TV for Spotify anyway. I think that'll look nice and warm especially in winter with the log burner going.

if you want wild bettas get a hendra or persephone - they're bloody stunning little fish. 

 

I love the idea of tanks either side of the log burner too.

I've ordered Api Api much smaller species and perfect for the 6g
