Dustin86
I have rock that was in a established tank. Took rock out. Soaked in vinegar water and pressure washed it and soaked it again. Dried out in sun for about a week. What should I do to use this rock in my tank again? Can I just rince it and just put back into tank and let other live rocks seed it? Trying not to have to go through a long soaking process. Any advice would be great.. thanks Quote Link to comment
Tired
What you have now is dry rock, not live rock. I would not put that back in the tank immediately, there could potentially be matter on it that will decay. Put it in a bucket of saltwater with some sort of circulation, let it soak for a few days, then test for ammonia. If ammonia is present, it needs to sit in the bucket and cycle until everything rots off. If ammonia is not present, you can go ahead and put it back in the tank. Can I ask why you turned it into non-live rock? Pests? 3 Quote Link to comment
