Growth on Snail shell

Hello everyone, this is my first post in Nano-reef, been lurking for years lol :D.

 

Have kept smaller tanks for many years and recently jumped back into reefing.

 

Please help identify these critters?! My 15 gallon tank is well kept and has been setup for 6 months now and for the past month my astera snail has grown long sturdy strands with fan like ends :s. Maybe digitate hydroids but I’m not sure! They don’t seem to harm my corals or fish but are probably sucking out quite a lot of nutrients...Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you everyone!

I believe that's algae; probably Acetabularia (a.k.a. mermaid`s wineglass).

you got a cool hitchhiker, usually mermaids wineglass fade after a while, nothing to worry about and not harmful.

Oh cool never seen these in my tank before! Thank you for the replies! I’m glad it’s just algae haha, cheers.
