Kindanewtothis
LFS received a YWG yesterday, I'm going there this morning. It's going in the empty 10g. How long to you Qt your fishs? Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
Got the YWG. It's really really tiny. Just arrived yesterday at the lfs. There was 5 of them. Took a bright one. It's acclimatizing right now. 1 Quote Link to comment

If they're eating - you can use the food they are already eating in the store to acclimate them to your tank. If they won't eat, I would probably not buy that day. My Talbot Damsel still has a preference to pellets fed @ the LFS, but over time he's started eating flakes, and 2 x frozen options. 1 Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
Starting to have some GHA in the 50g. Except for my walls that turn brown every 3-4 days the tank is doing well I think. 2 Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
Pods culture is back on track, I even haversted the first bottle since the crash last night. Only down side, I think I have now, or mostly, a monoculture of tisbe pods. It used to be half apocyclops panamensis which are much bigger and I'm told mandarins prefer it. Thinking about ordering apocyclops to start a second culture to have both species. 2 Quote Link to comment
seabass
Ultimately, most cultures will eventually become a monoculture. If you want two different species of pods (or even two species of phyto), you should culture them separately. Cultures that you buy which contain multiple species are usually cultured separately and then combined just prior to resale. 4 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
YWG reacts to food but does not eat. I tried a mix of frozen brine, mysis and flakes. Would it eat pods? Quote Link to comment

My clown got a mouthful too. 2 Quote Link to comment

M. Tournesol
Frozen foods are generally not sent with a refrigerant pack (too costly). To have the best result (and not receive unfrozen gooey food), you should buy a good amount of frozen foods at the same time. This is why all my frozen foods have been bought at a LFT (two gobies don't need 10 packs). 1 Quote Link to comment
