Willzs
So this is my current sump layout from left to right: RO chamber Inlet/filter sock/skimmer Seachem matrix/LR rubble Heater/return pump The problems I have are a lack of space in the sump to carry out any maintenance of it, detritus build up and a continuous pain of switching out filter socks. What would you recommend to help solve these issues? I was thinking about taking out the baffle between the inlet and matrix chamber but not sure this would help? Thanks Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
Consider switching to a 30 or 40 Breeder – something without baffles. Consider whether you want the integrated ATO reservoir. I'm sure it works well, but it also seems like a portble/removale option would be of higher utility. You could end up with nothing down there other than the skimmer, ATO sensor, a small heater (you also have one in the display, ideally), the return pump and a circulation pump to prevent detritus from settling. A filter sock is not a requirement, per se, but you will probably need some type of inlet to contain bubbles and salt spray. There are lots of designs out there...or DIY your own. ...or use a mesh sock if you want to keep the sock but have less maintenance. Quote Link to comment
