Broseff
I used dry rock in my tank, and didn't purposefully add any coralline algae, so I don't think it's that. Maybe it's Cyano? Anybody know? Quote Link to comment
Brandonmw
Could be coralline. It can come in on snail shells or coral frags. Quote Link to comment
Broseff
I don't have any coral, and my snails all had super clean shells (I didn't see any coralline). Can it really spread from super small amounts? Quote Link to comment
Brandonmw
I would suspect that it would start at the microscope level so it is certainly plausible it came in unnoticed. If it is coralline it showing signs that your system is healthy. Again I’m not an expert by any means but it looks more like coralline then cyano to me 1 Quote Link to comment
sublunary
Quick test: blow on it with a turkey baster. If it blows off the rock, it's probably cyano. If it's stuck tight, probably coraline. 2 Quote Link to comment
