raiqkashif
Just entered the ugly stage of my tank and boy does it look ugly. Diatoms started appearing on my rock two days ago, using a tooth brush so try and scrape all of them from the rocks. For now my tank parameters ate pretty stable 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 5ppm for nitrates. Went to my lfs to get a CUC grabbed around 3 blue legged hermits, 2 red hermits, 3 nassarius and 3 trochus snails. Hopefully the diatoms die out in the next couple of days and ik its going to get wayy worse before it starts getting better lol. 1 Quote Link to comment
raiqkashif
Hey guys hope everyone is doing well and sorry didnt do any updates in the last couple of days, work was hectic and the tank looked to disgusting to post anything 😂. Good news is the diatoms are finally dying and starting to get a green film on some of the rocks was wondering if i should start dosing vibrant heard it does wonders with algae not sure if using it at this stage would be a good idea, any suggestions? Update on the royal gramma, still no where to be found, everyone in my house is insisting he died lol, my fire shrimp finally stopped hiding and is now exploring the tank after two weeks from when i added him. Got my first coral today from the countless im putting on hold to order lol. Started off simple and got 2 frags of gsp i added to the back wall, would love it if it would just cover the entire wall. I see the polyps just started to extend after i added them to the tank 15 mins ago. Lastly the clownfish are doing amazing they follow me everywhere i go, follow my fingers and even eat out of them when im feeding them pellet food. Totally inlove with them 😍 1 Quote Link to comment
Zer0
Definitely no to the vibrant. That is for tanks with extreme algae issues, not for light/typical algae or normal film algae. Just increase your cleanup crew if you’re seeing an increase in algae. Sorry about the royal gramma, that’s a bummer. 1 Quote Link to comment

Sorry about the royal gramma, that’s a bummer. Yeah was leaning on not going that route read couple of people dose it biweekly just as preventative measures. Yeah honestly i think hes still hiding somewhere, when initially i couldnt find him did tested everyday didnt see any ammonia spikes at all was always at 0ppm and the only cuc i had at that time was a blood red shrimp emerald crab. Fingers still crossed lol 1 Quote Link to comment
