Micro-Reefs Aquariums
Aqua Illumination Hydra 32 HD with HMS single arm mounting kit arrived. There is a reason you spend good money on a high end light fixture for cold water system. 4 Quote Link to comment

After weighing in three different suppliers, I decided for this build, I will got with: Home (matsucollections.com) My move to use this supplier is to inform all other reefers that purchase a cold water system from me, you will fully be supported by this collector should you want a California Biotope. Stu Wobbe helped me narrow down my decision to move with this choice. I am spending a very good amount of money to make this dream become possible for myself and all others wanting to dive into temperate systems. This tank will showcase all the endless possibilities that come from the Pacific Ocean! 2 Quote Link to comment

Yes, I made this build from design to assembling it and then deciding which equipment I will use. As they said in the movie, "Jurassic Park" we spared no expense with this build... 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment

Micro-Reefs Aquariums
Acrylic allows for backward compatibility and I punched in a new 1/2 inch hole for accepting the AquaUltra 15 watt UV. 1 Quote Link to comment
Micro-Reefs Aquariums
Got system retrofitted to receive the chiller and gave the UV a direct port to it's own, internal pump. Maximized the back of the AIO all areas got used and I had to build an acrylic step for the pump. 5 Quote Link to comment

Micro-Reefs Aquariums
Tank is going tropical and need your opinion? 20 lbs of live sand has been added. Do I go more or leave ot as is? Quote Link to comment
Zer0
Why the change? My personal opinion is at least 2” of sand, that way it’s enough to look nice but not deep enough to cause gas exchange issues down the road. But I think it would all come down to what inhabitants you intend on keeping. Quote Link to comment

If it is this hard for me to place an order, it will be this hard to have future reefers follow my lead. So, I am going to make a smaller 7 gallon system for my bedroom for Temperate system where I can order stuff that is small and will fit in that, others can follow my lead easy. Does that make sense? Please think about how sweet this 30 gallon tank will look with Elegance corals and all frog spawn, torches? 1 Quote Link to comment

Sometimes you go in with good intentions but things just don’t work out for one reason or another. There’s nothing wrong with that. Quote Link to comment
