Dr. Dendrostein
7.5 gallon nano tank. Simple filtration, 7 Pacific oysters ( not all oysters created equal), little dry rock, right now one skimmer on only daytime. Going on 90 days. Other system 120 gallons has 60 Pacific oysters over 1 year 6 months. See video to get an idea of setup. https://www.instagram.com/p/CH8K1gvjI0E/?igshid=ujrt3214yhhq 2 Quote Link to comment

Or do they filter and absorb anything else we're not generally aware of? b) can one expect similar benefits when keeping maxima clams or other type of clams? Quote Link to comment
Dr. Dendrostein
Thank you, a). pacific oysters in system consume excess food, no3,PO4, bacteria, unwanted algae....etc I feed organic powder foods like coral curry from Blue Life USA and a little phyto-feast. b). clams consume no3, PO4, food particular, they need lighting( oysters don't) and not as efficient in filtration as most oysters. So you would need considerable amount of clams to be as effective as Pacific oysters. Bummer Video shows setup 1 1 Quote Link to comment
