Hela Posted January 9 Hi is this worm reef safe? Will it harm my corals or fishes? There are 2-3 of these worms in my tank. Should i be worried? Quote Share this post Link to post
seabass Posted January 9 Welcome to Nano-Reef.com. That's an unusual color for a bristleworm hitchhiker. However, there are thousands of species. I would guess that it's a harmless scavenger, but couldn't say for sure. How long is it? Sometimes I go by that when deciding to remove a bristleworm. 2 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tired Posted January 9 Worms that can harm fish are extremely rare. Fish are difficult to catch. Ones that can harm corals are more common, but still relatively unlikely. Unless you see nibble marks on the corals, I would assume these are scavengers. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
kennethbeasley Posted January 13 Hi. That bristlenose doesn't look bad to me. Especially bristlenose are considered scavengers and consume uneaten food. It's actually good for your tank. But if you see that the worm is eating a fish in your tank, most probably the fish is already dead. The ones that you have to fear about are the fireworms. They usually eat healthy fish. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
