my crab tried to eat or do harm to a snail, I separated them; is that the right protocol?

I got few cleanup crew from someone who is closing down their tank. One of the cleanup crew is a bigger crab and tonight when I was doing tank inspection I noticed it cornered a snail, turbo snail I think, and trying to do something to it. I separated them and moved the crab away and thought to ask and see what is the protocol and what should I do.

hermit crabs are demons and the only effective protocol is to exorcise them from your tank.

Should I take out all hermit crabs or just the big one?

Hermit crabs will eat snails, some time to take the shell. To try and curb this you can spot feed hermits a pellet and have empty shells available for them.
