I was so excited to get this tank delivered today!!

Mike @Micro-Reefs Aquariums does fantastic acrylic work and after having one of his frag racks in my hands, I couldn’t wait to see the quality of this build.

I’m thoroughly impressed with this tank!

Build progress coming soon!!

Packaged very safely!!!

Are you going to set this up as a cold water tank?

I think Mike uses thicker acrylic for cold water systems and would need an ice probe. Also no luck finding cold water stock locally.

My wife said I was sleep talking about a bubble tip anemone Pico - guess I’ve been dreaming about endless possibilities haha!!

Any ideas?

Correct I wasn't sure if this was one of his coldwater tanks or not. I agree, coldwater livestock is a rarity. Haha oh boy you must be serious about an anemone! 😂

These portrait style tanks are pretty slick IMO. But present a challenge when scaping them. Maybe a floating reef structure of some sort with highlight corals like some hardy SPS up top and some button scolys/zoas or even NPS coral down at the bottom? Oh, and of course that anemone 😉😂

Exactly what I was thinking. I’ve have some rubble and a new aquastik also some rock I can break up and do NSA with. I’ll be posting back soon with updates. Going to use turbo start 900 and algaebarn ammonia for the cycle. I still have plenty left from my LGA 4.1 Pico.

Annndddd found a filter for it!! Penguin 75 was a 1/4” too wide so I just took some side cuts and snipped a little excess plastic off the filter.. even more pumped now!! I probably won’t use the bio-wheel.

I'm actually pretty excited for what you end up doing with this tank

I’ve been dying for another HOB filter tank, this is exactly what I needed. Can’t decide if I’m going to break up old (dead) live rock or go with Marco or ship some wet... it’ll be a cascade scape either way.

To bare bottom or not bare bottom, that’s the question... I could probably get away with a goby/shrimp pair to stir up the sand. My most productive sand bed is 4” dot dot dot... lol

Looks nice! I also have a tank coming in from Micro-Reefs. What are your plans for lighting? My tank is a similar length and width as yours and was wondering what lighting could fit under the hood.

Nice tank! I was about to get one of micro Reef's nano tanks but then unexpected car costs occured. And soon it'll be holiday shopping season😫 maybe in the new year if still available. They look too good!

Probably the most cost and quality balanced tanks out there in my opinion. Just stumbled across these, can’t wait for the next builds Mike does...
