I thought I lost the skittles zoas yesterday but it turns out they are alive, just really shrunken.

The LA Lakers have also been affected by the pox - I don't think they're going to make it. Both my mint greens look terrible, so I might lose them too. 😕

I'll try my best to save my purple hornets, fruit loops, sparkling reds & multimix zoa frags, but I am mentally bracing myself that I *might fail to do so. 😓

Zoas are beautiful but I find them a lot harder to keep healthier and happier compared to my SPS at times. Still not sure why some sites label these as 'easy, beginner' corals. Maybe some morphs are hardier and less easier to kill, but overall, they can be challenging to keep long-term sometimes. JMO. 😕

Well, yes. We do live in different parts of the world. 😉

Also picked up a purple digi, but the color is a bit off and brownish at some parts:

My forest fire seems to be developing more new branches though! 🥰 :

And I put in an order for a new fruit loops, skittles, blue hornet and eagle eye frags. They also had these:

But I'll just wait for the store to frag them. Once the tank is free of the pox, I'll pick the frags up and re-stock the zoa garden. 👍

Cross-posting to this journal from my 60G's journal. I picked up a blue mandarin for my 60G yesterday but the fish arrived near-death in the bag, and it was very stressed in that tank.

So today, I shifted Qin the mandarin to the nano to let him heal fully before moving him back to the 60G. Qin came from another's reefer tank and has been kept for over a year on live pods only. Previous owner made no attempt to wean him onto frozen, so I'll be training him.

When I first added him to this tank this morning, he was sliming very badly and once again, appeared to be dying. 15 mins. after adding him to the 10G, he perked up and was almost completely back to normal:

So much so that he began exploring the tank:

I did attempt to feed him a breakfast of various frozen food, but he was most sedentary and checking the tank out. He seemed to be particularly interested in my mini macro garden and my red fungia. 🤷‍♀️

Either way, few hours later and he's now actively scoping out the tank.

He's not too thick, but not skinny either. However, his belly is sunken - so I don't think he has been eating much at the LFS. 😕

Over the next few days, I'll be seeding my tank with more macro & microfauna (and hopefully pods) taken from the fuge of my 60G to accomodate Qin's diet until he completely switches over to frozen & pellets:

He's still very shy and wary of me, which is normal for a new fish. I did notice some of his fins are a bit ragged, but that should heal up.

I'll try to set up the XL-size HOB unit and convert that into a refugium - I'm not sure if it'll fit over the side of this tank though, because it's fairly large.

Zen, my new zanzibar shrimp is adjusting very well to the tank:

Zen & Qin came from the same previous reeftank/reefer. 👍
