Snow_Phoenix
I still haven't recovered fully. After Qin died, I was hit by one health issue after the other. Today was the first day that I managed to do a WC in *almost 3 weeks. I've been mostly keeping the tank going by dosing & top-offs. No wet feedings - just pellets and one dash of reef roids. Growth has been good in some pieces, especially the zoas, palys & some of the SPS. Here's my weeping willow toadstool leather when it was partially exposed to the air during the WC: My forest fire digi has grown a fair bit: The Zoa Ledge under heavy whites/mid blues with yellow filter lens: I have no idea what that weird growth under my fungias are, but it kinda looks cool: Harvey up close: Duncan: 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
I had to cut back on maintenance for all my tanks, including my 60G. I was losing some pieces over there so I decided to bring them over to this nano to see if I can save them somehow. Red monticap (faded & no PE) on day 1 : Browned out chili pepper monti in day 1: Nearly dead cynarina on day 1: The cynarina surprised me the most. I wasn't optimistic over its chances of recovery, but it still survived and here it was yesterday: As for the faded red monti, it has slowly regained a bit of color, but still remains faded and has no PE: If these pieces are too heal, they will need months of extensive care, so barring no more health issues, I *should be up for it. 👍 3 hours ago, Grimes said: Great to hear from you snow!!!🤩 Thanks, Grimes. 😊 1 Quote Link to comment

Ah, this guy. Used to have one in my nano and they're quite the character. Need to keep it well-fed though, or it *might eat any nanofish - especially sand-dwellers. I don't currently have a green one, but I do have a chocolate banded serpent star & bubbletip brittlestar in this tank. 😊 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks, Deb. I'm still healing though. My progress (health-wise) was set back easily a year thanks to the 4th of Feb. Other than the fact that it has been a rocky few weeks, I'm still here, still alive & still fighting. I'll need a lot of downtime to recover though. But hoping that I can resume writing some time next month. My 60G is in limbo and not doing too well, but all the fish are okay. This nano surprised me the most. There was a point that I was bed-ridden for two days and barely mobile, but the tank carried on without issues (no dosing, no top-offs). All the animals except one turban snail made it through. But I think my purple digi is STNing at the base - will give it a bit of a trim tomorrow to save the tips. The neon tenuis isn't doing too well - one side (the one facing the back wall of the tank) is white, but the side facing the light is bright and has full PE. I'm not sure what to make of it, so I'm just letting it be for now. Everything else is growing, however. There was a sneaky aiptasia that popped up between my Tubbs Blue zoas, but I smothered it with a blob of coral glue and that was the end of it. Otherwise, nothing interesting so far. I still miss Qin in a way, but I think...the stress brought on by the fish's death actually indirectly made me sick. Or at least, led up to a series of incidents that made me sick. 😕 I'm not entirely sure, but I think it was one of the causes of my relapse. That, and losing Spot, my 5 year 8-months-old leopard eel just a day after Qin died, and losing my Bicolor blenny, Dusky, (he swam into my wavemaker in the 60G and was instantly decapitated) a day after Spot died. So 3 losses in 3 days. It was too much. Anyway, I'll try not to get too attached to my fish in the future. All animals die, eventually, and I have sucky coping skills when it comes to handling anything dying on me. It's something I'll definitely try working on, because I do not want to regress again. Hope you've been keeping well. I missed all of you on the main forums. 🌺 3 Quote Link to comment
A.m.P
I hope you feel better soon, chronic illness have a way of creeping up when things get a bit out of hand, glad to hear you're starting to get back on your feet. I'd personally advise not dissociating or avoiding attachment, those aspects of the hobby can be the source of allot of enjoyment, but it's always unpleasant facing the reality that -at best- all our aquatic friends won't last quite as long as most of us. In the meantime, and post-hoc, it's nice -for me at least- to take solace in our ability to provide for them much less stressful, contagion-bound, and dangerous environments than they'd find in the wild. You take great care of your animals and it shows, Get well soon. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Not sure if the nem is simply moody or trying to split, but it was very retracted this evening: 🤔 Tenuis: Sneak peek of the Zoa Ledge: On a non-reefing note, I adopted a lap cactus several weeks ago. Meet Snuffles: 🥰🦔 I made this DIY cage-enclosure for her few days ago and it rewarded me with a neck injury on top of all the other health issues I was already facing: But, she seemed really happy and sometimes, that is all that matters. Here she was, today morning, after a short foot wash and short bonding session: Hoping to be able to bond with her properly in weeks to come. She's still getting used to my scent. 😊 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
The cynarina isn't faring too well as I'd originally presumed. It's still alive, but quite messed up: I personally think it might melt away since it's already gaping. 😓 However, the rest of the tank is doing okay. Here's the green leptastrea which has encrusted further onto the back wall: And the summit of the Zoa Tower - which I *think is missing a polyp at the top: 🤔 One of my two shroom piles: 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Panda says hello! 😊💦 And the sulky nem yesterday is back to normal today: 😅 Brain buddies: I miss going to my primary LFS though. Still waiting to pick up some blue hornets and more zoa morphs for the tank. 🤔 1 Quote Link to comment
