Snow_Phoenix
Repositioned the mini carpet rock and brought the Zoa Ledge closer to the center so that the zoas & palys will stop stretching: Tank under full blues & UV: 🥰 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Took a few topview pics: I re-positioned the purple death palys to the back of Coralline Ledge to give them more to grow out, away from the green leptastrea. 👍 Tank is filling up well - will slow down on additions from here on out. 😊 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Good news - I spotted Benny! 🥰 Bad news - one of the mint green zoa frags has caught the pox: Here we go. Again. 🙄 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Benny is both awesome and hilarious: I enjoy watching him from my bed. 😊 3 Quote Link to comment

Thank you, Wingy! 😊 7 hours ago, farkwar said: Dip it in acyclovir I will bet you breakfast from Dennys that its herpes Acyclovir? I dip mine in Furan-2. If caught early, the treatment is effective somewhat and some polyps can be saved. 👍 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Took some pics of the fish for a change. 😊 Sapphire: Sapphire & Panda: Panda: Prowler was lurking in the shadows, so I couldn't get a clear shot of him, but he's doing fine (I checked). 👍 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #1: Harvey hanging around: 😄 Pavona: A part of the Zoa Garden: 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #2: The favites have regained the red colors in their centers - again: 😅 Leptoseris: Fuzzy finger leather: I repositioned my green acans during the last WC because they kept toppling over into my purple death palys. Some of the heads have shrunk, but I think they'll recover: Random topview coral-mix shot: 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #3: Bird of Paradise seriatopora: Superman monti has tiny blue speckles all over - but is too close to my purple encrusting monti, so I might move to the far left of the tank: Rainbow brain: I think the green coral is not a monti, but a lepto of some kind. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? 🤔 : It's too close to my mini goni, so looks like I'll have to either move it up, or glue it to the back wall. I think the GSP piece I glued there might not take. I've only seen one open polyp on it, so I'm not holding too much hope that it'll grow out. 😕 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Update #1: Hey guys, I dropped by my secondary LFS today and picked two tiny new additions for the tank! 😊 Meet Minx, the pom pom crab: Which was berried with bright red eggs: 😄 And Harold, the porcelain nem crab: 😊 They both make quite a pair: 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #2: Harold immediately decided to cling on to my green lepto: Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #3: But Minx decided to seek refuge under my red lobo: Minx (when she was first added to the reef) : Hours later, and they both haven't moved away from their coral of choice. Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #4: I'm not sure how, but adding two new tiny crabs seemed to have peeked curiosity among the more wary citizens of the nano. I spotted Prowler, which was really nice: He was just lurking under the rocks, as usual: Then I spotted Harvey: And also Kraken! 🥰 : I noticed the tips of Krakens legs appear to be stubby, although I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be pointed. 🤔 I compared Kraken to my other two brittlestars, Marco & Polo, in the 60G, and they appear to have stubby tips too. 🤷♀️ 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Update #5: Found lots of bubbles on a small patch of my sandbed, once I turned the flow off: But no stringy brown algae to attached to them, so maybe not dinos, but just...bubbles? 🤔💦 Also caught a vermetid snail trying to trap food: And of course, an hour after I bought some new inverts is when my mum decides to tell me that we will be spending Christmas up north in my grandmother's house for either 4 days, 3 nights, or 3 days, 2 nights. 😕 I'm naturally worried over this tank. I dose my tank everyday because I'm still looking into reasonably priced autodosers online. I supposed 3 days away wouldn't be too bad (I always switch off all of my tank lights when I'm away for long periods of time), because I'll be seeing the tank on the 1st day (day I leave) and 3rd day (day I return). So the tank will only miss a day of dosing. But if it is 4 days, then it'll miss 2 days of dosing, and I'm just mentally bracing myself for the possibility that when I return, either some or all of my SPS might be gone. 😓 I might be overthinking it, but my only option is to convince them not too stay too long at grandma's. Sigh. It's going to be a tough compromise, but I hope the nano won't suffer any major losses while I'm away. 😕 The fish should be okay. One or two days of missed meals shouldn't affect them. As for the new critters, if I had known about this sooner, I would have purchased them after Christmas. As for now, what is done is done. I'm thinking if I should board the SPS alone at my primary LFS, but that would mean uprooting them from all over the tank, and some of them have encrusted to the rocks. 🤔 I guess the best thing to do is just leave them as they are, and hope the power doesn't trip while I'm not home. That'll be a nightmare...for all of my fish tanks. 😕 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Those new crabs are great additions. I hope you relax and enjoy your time with family. Shutting the lights off should be ok for a couple days just like a couple cloudy days out in the real world. I see more people post that the tank looks great when they get home. The exception is in the summer if the tank gets to hot from power loss or AC stops working. Your tanks are pretty diverse and I think the livestock will do fine. 1 Quote Link to comment
