I absolutely love these hitchiker purple sponges. 🥰

The new blue hairy shroom is developing well too:

IMG_20211023_111012_964.thumb.jpg.f9abfb008216aa30bfa97c2c3dbb156c.jpg

New yuma has developed even more brighter colors than before:

IMG_20211023_105958_604.thumb.jpg.b3a4815a69074d99b4601a9d440d4299.jpg

I found the tiny green hairy shroom that I rescued from the 60G. Unfortunately, it is still brown & very much shrunken. 😕

20211023_104521.thumb.jpg.5c643c59201fe53f9572f57cea2a1918.jpg

If ever it regains its original size and color, I'll leave it as it is because hairy shrooms don't quite get along with other corals nearby.

There are 2 pieces that I have to cut my losses on - the microgoni & the small pea-sized fragment of the purple encrusting monti. 😭

In the case of the microgoni, most of it is covered by algae with one or two specks of pink left on it. As for the monti fragment, it is bone-white. Both pieces deteriorated slowly over the weeks, and there was nothing much that I could do, umfortunately. 😔

I'll be removing their remains from the nano tomorrow.

My red lobo is definitely bleaching out. I sense a nutrient issue - possibly a lack in PO4s & NO3s due to a lack of fish poop. 🤔

Most of my LPS are overall okay at a passing glance, but are simply less puffy than usual.

I think this issue will slowly correct itself once I re-add some fish to the DT in Dec. Until then, I'm quite reluctant to manually dose anything to bump up NO3 or PO4 levels - mainly because I'm afraid it will upset the delicate balance the tank is on as it is. So I'll just stick to WCs and buffer dosing for now. 🤔

My LPS are much happier today. 😊

The cyano is back, of course, but I think the nitrates & phosphates are finally at where it is needed to be to keep the rainbow brain large & puffy again:

The leptastrea's green colors have darkened even more:

20211024_175140.thumb.jpg.9c629d1615f9f9e68fe36457b6813470.jpg

And the tiny bubbles on the tiny yuma look more developed. I *think I can see a tiny mouth in there as well:

I'm also seeing improvements in the zoas & palys. The purple monsters' skirts are more even and less wrinkly, although the color will probably take more time to come back, if at all. 🤔

Those clove polyps are just stunning!

Thank you! They can be a bit invasive though. I have them on the other side of the tank as well, but some polyps actually decided to grow *over my zoas, so I had to gently scrape those off.

My primary LFS has different varieties in their main *warehouse (just calling it that, but it's basically a large central building where they grow out various coral pieces before moving them out to the stores). But this is the only variety I've seen in their store so far. 😅

Pyro suffered from a very bad molt yesterday. I initially presumed my yellow CBS attacked him, until I saw one of his malformed pincers (tiny & shrunken), with partial antennas and missing legs. I woke up to this, this morning. 😕

The brain ingested him rather quickly. He was already partially in the coral's mouth when I woke up. 😕

On a less dreary note, the monti fusion is almost complete, and there are already nubs growing on the surface - the signs of new branches about to form:

Mushroom mountain looks so different in the mornings, when the shrooms are still shrunken, and their colors are more intense:

A lot of updates coming through. I took a lot of pics today. 👀

Update #1:

I WCed 8G of the tank today and performed some routine maintenance, including vacuuming the cyano off the sandbed. Also replaced the carbon & floss.

Corals looked much happier after the WC. 🥰

FTS today on 02/11/2021:

Also, Harvey immediately molted after the WC, and the molt was successful! 😊

Update #2:

Rainbow acans now have 6 (!!!) heads and are growing more. The original green streaks on the coral appear to be making a comeback as well. 👀

Orange leptastrea tried to eat his green neighbor. Had to separate the two. Orange is fine, the green one has lost a bit of flesh on one side, but should recover:

The only two corals currently having issues is the red lobo brain (colors are still pale with a bleached corner) and the blastos (taking some time to regrow, but still remain shrunken).

Otherwise, I am observing some growth and more intense color development in most of the pieces. 😊👍
