Ordered sump for Elos

 

It has a glass tank as a sump already, but really just a box

 

Its pretty small.  But leaves more room outside the sump for dry stuff like calcium reactor and controls

 

Email convo with GHL, no Maxi Dosers. No idea when

 

Marine Depot sent their XR15 to Ecotech.  Whatever, even if I wanted to make it not connect to Mobius. I have no idea how to do that

Dumb mistake

 

I should have been curing the fresh live rock with Prime in the water

 

80% of the coralline is gone

 

Oh well

 

It's fixable

 

And, having no contact with Marine Depot since like the 3rd.  I received a text message from UPS with a delivery today from MD Trading(Marine Depot).  Weird and unexpected.

 

If it's a replacement or repaired light, it's going to sit on my porch overnight

 

Marine Depot replied, he said they didn't send me anything and doesn't know what MD Trading is(UPS code for Marine Depot).

you don't see one of these often, way to sneak it in here.    Is this the smallest "kit" they build or what?  Looks around 30" length?

70cm x 50cm for the main sump area

 

The ATO reservoir makes it a little more, its like 9+ gallons

 

Leaving just enough room for the CaRx and tank.  And electronics and dosers on the left hand side

 

Going to eBay either that Bubble King skimmer or the 180i i have for already. Probably keeping the 180i, much lower resale and more suited for the size.

 

It's the filter roller I was really after.  I just couldn't fit a comparable one in the sump that came with the tank(without gutting every baffle in it, and I didn't want that work).  I have made enough DIY sumps in my life, done.

 

Pretty sure the Vertex 130 Omega is the knockoff of that BK skimmer

It's screwed together with Torx screws

RE Skimmer is the same form factor as the Vertex 130, Like I imagined. It is literally built into the sump, as in the electronics and controller.  I had planned on ebaying it, since I have the Vertex 180i.  It will take some work, I need to double check to see if they even sell on ebay

 

The PVC construction, is substantial as I had hoped.

 

I'm off all weekend. Will be working on it hopefully.

 

Worked last night, I am too tired to fall asleep(hate that)

 

Well, checked ebay.  BK 200 sold in Oct and a BK250 sold in December.  Cool.

Well the Vertex 180i fits the sump perfectly

 

But there is no room for the Zeovit Reactor

 

I will probably just use a regular reactor for the zeolite

 

 

Who wants to buy a new Royal Exclusiv Bubble King DC 150 for cheap?

 

As an aside, the Tunze 3181 Macro Algae Reactor is not working as intended.  Will probably give it one more try before cleaning it up and eBaying. Chaeto is down to about the size of a golf ball.  It makes a great slime Algae reactor though, but I am not about to clean that on a regular basis
