ReefGoat
I was poking around on another forum and saw that the guy that I liked and trusted to buy my Aussie Rock from. Same that’s in the desk-mate right now. Had just gotten a fresh batch of Aussie rock in on Tuesday. Scrolling back through his update thread it looks like sometimes it can be a decent little while before he replenishes his stock. So in fear of missing out on this batch and prolonging the original setup date planned for early October. I went ahead and bought 50lbs of the fresh Aussie deco live rock. I talked with him and asked if he could hang on to what I paid for a bit. He said it works out perfect because he likes to put it in saltwater after it arrives in shipping for 3 to 4 weeks anyways. So I’ll be picking up my rock from the airport early September folks We GoT rOcK 1 2 Quote Link to comment

Yeah according to I.M the tank and the plywood crate/pallet it’s on weighs 266lbs. I figure the plywood crate and pallet weighs at least 60 or more. So I’m guessing the tank is around 200 pounds maybe a little less. I think we’re going to forego the suction cups. They’re kind of spendy for something to use 1 time. I don’t think this tank warrants using them. 1 Quote Link to comment

Would you be able to get some straps to guide and gently slide the whole crate down the stairs? This way the tank itself will still be protected. Quote Link to comment

I guess that’s why it’s so heavy. Idk Quote Link to comment
ReefGoat
Not the EXACT pieces I’ll be getting. But these are sample pictures he has of the fresh batch that I’m buying my rock from. He said the amount that I bought will be 2 boxes 18”x18”x16” filled to the brim. These pictures were taken by him earlier this week. 4 1 Quote Link to comment

ReefGoat
Running first water through the system. Booster pump brought the pressure from 35 to 90 Quote Link to comment
ReefGoat
The muscle came through and helped out lol. I’m so impatient *facepalm* The tank wasn’t NEARLY as heavy as I thought it would be. It only took one friend and we easily carried it into the house and onto the stand. No drama at all. I’m very thankful for that. It’s quite a relief to get it out of the garage. I know it was probably safe in the crate. But with my wild son always messing in the garage and the SXS and lawnmower and bikes and scooters always in and out the garage and kids always meddling around in there. I’m much more at ease with it being in its resting place safe and sound. 5 Quote Link to comment
Airedale.Reef
I'd bet money this tank gets wet before October hahah! I know you were wanting to wait until after hurricane season, but man, that will sure be hard just staring at an empty tank for the next few weeks! Looks great in the space, and glad to hear it wasn't a pain to move. 2 2 Quote Link to comment
colormegone
Yup... it'll have water in it sooner than planned. (if it were me for sure) 😁 1 Quote Link to comment

DNR88
Six lines have great personality, but wait till you get a pygmy wrasse! 😄 1 Quote Link to comment

Wrasses can be hell on berghias and peppermints. I don’t want to be cornered into only being able to rely on chemicals and a filefish that may or may not do its job and could get a taste for my coral. I MAY get a yellow banded possum wrasse or a pink streaked but I don’t know. Quote Link to comment
boscoT
I love 6 line wrasse but had to remove mine. I added a fish and it went crazy. I now have a pink streak wrasse and it's peaceful and timid. It is bullied by a royal gramma 1 Quote Link to comment
ReefGoat
Yeah they can be little mother ####ers for sure Quote Link to comment
Staticmoves
I had 1 six line that was great, until he took the leap of faith. and another that would drag a clown fish twice its size around the tank by its bottom lip! 1 Quote Link to comment

ReefGoat
Eric Cohen from Tank Stops rock is extremely light and porous! I couldn’t believe how much rock I got from 40lbs. I never could have imagined it’d fill this tank that much. I even had enough to put rubble in a chamber of the caddy and the rest of the pieces in a chamber in the back this is the EXACT look I’ve been chasing since I started reefing 3 Quote Link to comment
