derekeverything
Hi all! I’m starting up my first salt water reef tank – a 24 gallon cube tank. I got an okay deal on the Recife ECO 24 gallon all-in-one, and then reinforced an Ikea cabinet to make a better looking aquarium stand. Never done any saltwater before, just a small 5 gallon freshwater fish tank. I also do a fair bit of home brewing so I’m comfortable adjusting water chemistry, and there are actually a few nice overlaps between the hobbies – I already had a hydrometer, pH meter, a good scale, calcium chloride, baking soda, Epsom salts, etc. to get me going. Still, just getting things set up has taken a lot more reading time (& cash!) than I expected! Here’s the tank – I think its all ready to go, and I’m just waiting for Tampa Bay Saltwater to ship some live rock my way 😁 I’m really glad you’re all here, as the forum posts have been a great resource as I get things set up. I’ve also already got some questions that I’ll be dropping in the beginners forum. But for now I just want to say hello! -Derek 1 Quote Link to comment
