Does that work for reef tanks then? How come no RODI?

It has done so far, no RODI as I'm on a water meter and don't have the pressure for one to work. I know about booster pumps but at the moment not worth it for me

This is a good one. I use Nutrafin dechlorinator/water conditioner for all my tanks. 😊👍

I've used that Nutrafin before too, interesting it's sold by Fluval over here 👍

Still searching for CuC, thinking that this weekend should rid me of the last of the diatoms as the GHA is starting to come in, so need to start scraping the rocks soon

If you do pick up a TDS meter, I allow anything up to 15 into the tank

So it seems the diatoms have almost burned themselves out, the GHA is slowly starting to come in so have been pinching off clumps as and when I spot them

So have something going on with my Zoas, the majority of the colony is now closed and have gone translucent. I have a faint brown film over some of the heads which I have been gently basting away. Additionally I seem to have a lot of loose polyps floating around the tank.....

Oh yeah found the diatoms

Sorry about the zoa.'s. Dirty floss makes it easy to remove that junk. I hope you are doing well.

Thanks. Hopefully @Grimesor someone UK based can catch and post me an Asterina star or two. Pretty sure in the nano contest I had a similar problem and the Asterina ate the diseased polyps. The colony made its way back and I never saw the stars again.

🤞

For now have moved the rock up into a higher flow area of the tank and have adjusted the light down accordingly.

I think I actually prefer this placement in the tank, gives a better angle of the rock that the colony is on

Love good live rock, even if I lose the Zoas got plenty of goodies in here

Will collect them up and send as soon as mate. There is defo another star(so I expect more than that) in my tank but it's an elusive little bugger..

I know a bunch of people don't mind them but years ago I had a white one I thought was ok which dined out on half a zoa colony before I realized what was going on..

I thought similar in the contest, but looking back at the photos I'm now not 100% certain that the Zoas were that healthy to begin with.

Nitrates 5ppm

Phosphates 0.1ppm

Ammonia 0ppm

Higher flow seems to be helping some already. 🤔

I wouldn't say they struggled, although the lack of flow probably did mean that the film algae covering them got more of a chance to establish itself. I mean the change from Wednesday

Anyways on a slightly reef related topic, have placed a holding deposit on a flat for myself after the new year. I have a lovely breakfast bar/room divider with power sockets 💪. Should take up to 250KG of weight

I do like my little work station now.

IMG_20201023_133252.thumb.jpg.4ae881cc15edeb06010508e7f148ab7b.jpg

Anyways, onto the main reef.

IMG_20201025_101913.thumb.jpg.5c1927ef53f2536823518588e30ac28c.jpg

Zoas still looking poorly, haven't shrunk in size but only open a limited amount. They don't seem to have that faint brown film on them, that seems to have been replaced by GHA.

Hoping the Snail mailing experiment works, will find out tomorrow
