Twin Desktop Pico's

So, I have had confirmation that the office will close and remain close until Christmas 2020. This is pretty much what I thought, so I need a temp tank for the RSM inhabitants for at least 3 months. You know what that means? New tank time, new thread time.

Set up on Saturday 26th September, luckily I kept the floating rock scape in heated moving water so expecting a small mini cycle of at all

Tank: Fluval Spec V

Light: Asta 20 Marine LED

Return: Hydor Pico Evo Mag 180

Heater: 25w adjustable submersible

I will be adding parts this week when I shut down the RSM and transfer across Livestock.

Livestock:

Tank Bred Clownfish Pair

Zoanthids

Possibly Fire and Ice

So I am on the look out for more cheap corals, I was going to go with Zoas only but that is a little dull (IMO), so trawling the local forums have located a nice little mushroom rock for £15 which i shall be collecting this weekend or even Friday.

Wonder if these will do as well as @debbeach13 mushrooms in with Diver Dan? 🤔

That looks like the ones that grow and multiply the most. Good luck I am sure they will do great.

Yeah she estimated about 20+ heads and have a couple of colour morphs. My only concern is the size of the rock in the Spec V, only get to find out one way really, go and have a looksies. Will take a chisel and hammer with me to split the rock if i can to make it fit

Nice score on the mushroom rock!

Just be careful when you're splitting it - some of the shrooms might detach from the rock as you do so.

Thanks, if not will take a couple more Sump Zoa rocks and switch out mine for the live rock

Oof that bites. Hopefully they work ahead of schedule 😅 Haha You could take this opportunity to try out the Triton method (i.e. no water changes)? 😉

Well considering that I used to carry out that work myself under a subcontract i can tell you no, it wont be it will over run. Ummm that sounds like a lot of testing and dosing which goes against my keep it cheap and simple methodology

Glad they gave you a heads up. That could have really been a disaster.

I would have noticed the discoloured water, it is fairly obvious but yeah that would leave me stuck trying to find some RODI or Distilled

Is it Friday yet? Can I get my fish from work already?

Got home and plopped the Zoas in straight away, still need to deal with that Aiptasia.

So the Zoas have opened, the smaller of the clowns is also hosting the large Aiptasia 🤦‍♂️ I assume that this is what she's doing when she's gumming and rubbing herself on it.

So seems I have a few little Aiptasia on the rock too, as well as that bubble algae i thought I had scraped it all
