I got one for the same reason a few tanks ago and it did a wonderful job at cleaning up the flatworms. Thanks! Yeah, they really did a great job. My tank glass was covered in flatworms just a few days ago but I don't see any now. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Tigahboy Posted November 14, 2020 Some updated shots. Also received an order of caulerpa peltata yesterday that I didn't even remember ordering (I have a problem). 😅 Have 16 different types of algae in here now. 💪 6 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tigahboy Posted November 24, 2020 Unfortunately sargassum didn't last. Seems pretty hard to keep in aquariums. Everything else is doing great tho. Recent shots. Laurencia irridescens Caulerpa peltata (which seems like a pretty slow grower compared to my other caulerpa) 7 Quote Share this post Link to post

caas1496 Posted November 25, 2020 I’ve been following along with this beautiful tank and the macro algae tank Inappropriate Reefer has built and think I might need to start one as well. Ever considered putting together macro algae “frag packs”? You have quite an amazing collection at this point. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Haven't thought much about selling/shipping, Maybe down the line. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

The Rainy Day Aquarium Posted December 2, 2020 Always admire the work you put into making these macro tanks so beautiful. Very Crisp. 🧐 1 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tigahboy Posted December 14, 2020 Update time. Finally got a hold of these yellow dwarf feather dusters. Been looking for these specific ones for awhile now for this tank. FTS with the new worms. Also added a Tail Spot Blenny! Named him Blen Affleck. My grape caulerpa also went sexual (bummer b/c most of it is gone now). Always a risk when you keep caulerpa. I usually just remove the dead leaves, do a big water change, and run carbon. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
debbeach13 Posted December 14, 2020 Nice new additions. I hope they do well in your tank. I really like feather dusters. so pretty. 1 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tigahboy Posted December 17, 2020 New macroalgae additions! This super cool Portieria (just a guess at the ID). Looks like it's an alien plant. And a bunch of Galaxaura (been on my wishlist for awhile). 2 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Christopher Marks Posted December 17, 2020 That Portieria is insane looking! Like a floating artery! I bet it will root into your rock work readily. I love those feather dusters, tube worms are a great addition to this reef! Incredible as always @Tigahboy! 1 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

There's over 17 types of algae in here now. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tigahboy Posted December 17, 2020 Still need to finalize placement for the Galaxaura (it covers up the valley too much where it is now), but here's a shot with the new additions. 4 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tigahboy Posted December 18, 2020 Moved the galaxaura off the sand and onto the rockwork to keep the valley clear. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
RoyalGramma001 Posted December 18, 2020 @Tigahboy if you don't mind me asking, I was thinking of doing some adding some macro to my tank, is there a reason most macro tanks I see only have gorgonians and mushrooms or Zola's or is it just personal taste? I have a starting mixed reef with sps, lps, and soft corals. Also do you have to dose anything in your tank? Also would snails and emerald crabs become a problem? 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Elizabeth94 Posted December 19, 2020 Wow it looks really nice grown in. I like the way it goes right to the top of the water. Do you have any blue plating sponge in there? Not sure what it looks like under white lighting, is that what the tan piece is below the feather duster? 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
