Because each cob is 34V, you’re using up pretty much all 36V output the transformer has at one cob, so you wouldn’t be able to run them in series. And yes, you’ll need to match the amp for the cob as well. That’s the extent I know about diy led, try to look up some led building manual/instructions from ledgroupbuy. Quote Link to comment
alfred3
yes. i am connecting in parallel . do i need to tweak down the v to 34V instead 36V or that's ok Quote Link to comment

You will have to set drive current to match the cob's recommended drive current. Quote Link to comment

Reefkid88
Hahaha you guys kill me @Matteo @5*Chris lol. If it were me,I would run a 200-300w 48v psu and ldd's. Especially for that many cobs. Voltage and amperage is going to be high, you will virtually max that driver out within a few cobs essentially costing more money for more drivers. 2 Quote Link to comment
mitten_reef
power supply should be fine.... the simple layout would be: your power supply > two driver boards (with 5 channels each, like one from Coralux) > each channel has the 350 mA fixed-current LDD > your COB will be downstream from the LDDs. the driver boards and LDDs help with the parallel distribution AND smooth out the power before it goes to cobs. A bit more concern that the cob's are only 5000K. That's a whole lot of 5000K cob, when most reef tanks run 15000K or above for that bluer look. Unless this is not a reef tank led build....
