Jessy’s CADE Pr2-1200

So I finally upgraded my Red Sea reefer 250

I was torn between a reefer 425/525 and the waterbox 130/170 for a long time before I found the CADE pro reef systems

it was an easy choice after that as the CADE has far more features than both RS and WB

and more volume per foot of tank length than both others as well. Couldn’t be happier with the CADE, I’ve taken delivery and am part way through the build now.

Here are a few photos up until now, specs etc to follow.

Very nice looking system. Do the power bars come standard with the stand?

They do come standard, they’re one of the features that sold me on the CADE.

The whole stand is aluminium which is another huge step above Red Sea and waterbox.

Display Volume is another big one for me

Red Sea: 332 litres (88 gallons)

waterbox: 364 litres (96 gallons)

CADE: 408 litres (107 gallons)

The biggest single thing that completely sold me is there is no overflow box in the display on the CADE.

Very cool, the flat back design is pretty interesting. Is it a false wall then seeing there’s also the bottom intake?

Yeah you’re right, it’s a false wall, there’s two sections. The section with the two intakes is the overflow (the lower intake is supposed to help heavier debris make it into the sump) and the rest is an integrated gravity fed ato. The return hose actually comes up through the ato section.

Little size comparison between the reefer 250 and the new system (face not blanked out for identity protection I was just pulling a weird face in both shots)

are you going to add sand?

Nope, bare bottom like my previous tanks.

Previous tanks started with a sand bed and ended up bare bottom so I’m cutting out the middle man this time.

Got a little bit of wiring done, cabinet lights fitted etc. I hate trying to make all the power bricks look somewhat presentable.

Still waiting for more parts to arrive but shipping is torture atm.
Should be wet next weekend !!

Same here.. pretty hard to do .. I'm always worried about the over heating as well. I try and keep mine away from each other which is pretty hard to do in a tank stand..

So I always assume everyone is from the states😂, but judging by your power outlets your clearly not.  Where are you from??.. pretty cool the amount of reefers on here that are from other countrys...

Definitely not from the states no 😅, I’ve been there once tho if that counts.

I’m in Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺

almost 10 years on this site and I definitely agree it’s cool the amount of places all the reefers in here are from.

Got some eshopps biolux blocks in the mail today.

The CADE pro reef series 2 sump comes with 4 media baskets that hold them perfectly.
Hopefully this should make up for the lack of rock in the display.

Tank is coming along now

Only two more pieces of equipment to buy and the build side of things is “done” (for now lol)

trying to find stock anywhere in the country has proved impossible so I just have to wait now.

All the livestock from the old tank is now in the new tank, I lost a few corals to coral warfare but you get that on the big jobs I suppose.

Also, have I mentioned how much I love the side door access to the sump? Because I love it a lot 😂

Do you know if they come In white ?

Hey mate, No they don’t come in white.

the stands are made from powder coated aluminium with glass panels on the doors and the official word from CADE is that since they can’t powder coat white and they don’t want to paint, white isn’t an option as this stage.

spacer.pngBit of a sump tidy up and a couple of FTS.

Not much to update in the way of livestock as I’m letting the system mature for a bit as is because the initial setup was a little rushed.

So I have pretty much finished the build now. Took a lot longer than I hoped but it ain’t easy getting hold of equipment these days as we all know.

I got a carbon/gfo reactor fitted

Made up a light stand and got the radions hanging from it, looks a million times better than the rms arms I think.

The last piece of the puzzle was the controller, I chose an Apex el for the job and got it all set up too.

bit of wire management in the equipment cupboard left to handle but I’ll save that for a day where I’ve got a bit more motivation up my sleeve lol.

Now it’s time to stock the tank 😁😁

have started tracking down the fish I want, that’s going to be a slow process but I will keep my 3 fans up to date with the search 😂.
