Sophia
So I just bought a new tank and some sand for it, it came with a Bio Magnet© clarifier. I followed the instructions on it and the water STARTED to clarify. It has been 12 hours and the water still looks cloudy with sand. How long should it take? Quote Link to comment
seabass
to Nano-Reef.com. In addition to the clarifier, you need filter floss (as the clarifier just helps the floss clear the cloudiness). I suppose there are a number of factors which might affect how long it will take to clear (like if you rinsed the sand beforehand, flow, capacity of the mechanical filter, etc). I recommend always rinsing bagged sand, even if it's wet "live" sand. I suspect it will become noticeably clearer throughout the day. And hopefully it'll be clear within 48 hours (more, or less).
