ECLS Reefer
Meet Crash. White banded Pygmy possum wrasse. Hopeful he will find a niche in the rocks somewhere like Eddie has, because he wasn’t getting just the warmest reception from everyone this evening. Of course they were all hangry so maybe tomorrow it will be better for him. Eddie seemed especially curious and yet annoyed at this new doppelgänger 5 Quote Link to comment

Tamberav
I love that little wrasse 😍 When my LFS gets one , I am going to be all over it! They had yasha gobies today which were so cute too but I resisted. 3 Quote Link to comment

He doesn’t let the big wrasses push him too far, but he wasn’t very nice to the white banded Pygmy today. I saw him out for a short while this afternoon and then saw Eddie chasing after him. I hope the new one will find a space of his own in there. 3 Quote Link to comment

ECLS Reefer
Working hard at getting the best fish shots. Playing with shutter speed, ISO, and aperture plus adding lights to boost the ambient lighting. Sometimes the fish even cooperate and sort of hold still for me. Still trying to figure this magic out. besides @Cannedfish anybody else have advice on how to get the crispiest shots? How to get an almost 3D appearance of the fish like some people do? @Matteo? Other camera wizards? 8 1 Quote Link to comment
jack1978
Love those shots of the anemone and clown. Your camera skills are growing, little one. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
This would be my advice... Aim camera in fishes general direction....push button....repeat 200 times so at least one photo likely turns out acceptable. 😋 7 Quote Link to comment

I’m always surprised that they seem so *cooperative* but I think they’re wondering if there will be food involved 4 Quote Link to comment
mitten_reef
The fancy new Nikon's have so many auto-focus points in the viewfinder. One thing you could try is to "lock" that, then move the camera around so the fish always the thing the camera hones in on. How, you might ask? Idk, I just remember my sister-in-law talking about it. I know, not very useful, lol. 2 Quote Link to comment

Matteo
Idk your photos look great to me! I think that 3D affect is from the Macro lens shots maybe. Are you shooting with a macro lens or have one? Everything is pretty damn in focus so your shots look great to me! FYI no camera expert, I just play around with settings and take an occasional okay photo everynow and then. Still working on it for sure as I've only had my macro lens for like two weeks. 😅😉 3 1 Quote Link to comment

I just today got a Laowa 60mm which is great! Playing with it now to see what all it can do. The new camera body with the better processor has made the difference though. It’s finally taking what the lenses see and rendering it beautifully. 2 Quote Link to comment

Well keep it up cause your photos look great! @Cannedfish and I were chatting and were hoping that a POTM contest should be Macro shots. So many people coming out with great shots it would be a wild contest. @Christopher Marks thoughts on that contest theme? 4 1 Quote Link to comment

ECLS Reefer
Playing with the new macro lens today, a Laowa 60mm f/2.8. Could have done better but was going more for seeing what it would do, and didn’t take a lot of care. Plus these lenses plus the FTZ adapter and the new camera are heavy, so using a tripod would be better but not as easy to catch fish in action. A good reminder that clowns have bear traps for teeth 7 Quote Link to comment

ECLS Reefer
Ugh Instagram is still being a brat with the links. My little plain oscellaris and gladiator clowns played model for me today. Got some coral shots but am being a little lazy about getting them edited. Bought a third RedSea LED 90 because @mitten_reef made me. He didn’t volunteer to donate to my electricity bill payment fund however 😑 Realized while snooping from the side of the tank that it’s not a bad view... 5 1 Quote Link to comment
