ECLS Reefer
Here you go @spectra. They’re all coloring up, though I discovered the box over an hour late, placed on the hood of my still hot engine hood in my garage. Because evidently walking to my porch was just too far for USPS. But thank goodness even though the box was pretty hot, everything seems to be okay. We will have to consult @mitten_reef for the full correct list of what goodies I got from him. I dont want to get the names wrong. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Yay!! Thanks now I have a reference. The other acros in there I can’t remember except that all but one came from Vivid. Happy Thanksgiving to all!! 1 2 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Some random corals that are looking good for me at the moment. Lost my purple long tentacled nem. Not sure why- possibly the clown hosting it got sand in it that it didn’t want to swallow. I have no luck with nems. 😢 3 Quote Link to comment

He already has an RC tank that shoots pellets, a six wheeled water proof off roofing RC military truck, and like 4 RC cars. He’s good I promise. Turns out he also asked for a $1300 RC monster truck. A.m.P
Love the PAR bulb shot honestly, look at that BEAM of light. Gotta' hand it to the lenses on our reef boards, they really do make a world of difference, I'm constantly fiddling around with the PAR bulb over my tiny little atoll to make sure everything's in decent light... 1 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Whoa. Ordered some tiger cowries thinking they would be the same size as the ones I once got from Reef Cleaners. Holy Shmoley 😳 Theyre only slight gigantic? Reminds me of The Brute Squad 2 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
NOW I hear the things can eat anemones and soft corals in their voracious ways, so now I’m worried. May be rehoming them post haste. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

ECLS Reefer
So, I guess @Cannedfish has a pretty good thing going with the monthly updates. I may switch to that as well. I’m just nowhere near as funny as him, mores the pity. This has been a busy month for the tank. Got it finally restocked and happy only to have some of the fish killed by a mistake while I was staying over night in the hospital for a couple of nights. The reserve tank keeper didn’t turn on the pumps, and the tank got too cold, down to around 69-70, and I ended up losing 4 fish and the skunk cleaner shrimp. It also had the effect of completely killing of my massive wellsophyllia which was just sickening. Someday I’ll find another. Somewhere in the midst of that my Part B volume got too low, and the delivery of that buffer got to be too little, allowing the alk to drop to 7.6 at the lowest. Thankfully, only ended up losing the blue/green digitata and nothing else seemed different. Weirdly, the bubblegum digi looked happier 🤔. At any rate, I have replaced all the fish save the mystery wrasse, because LA is asking way more than they did when I first got them, and because with the Christmas holiday in full swing, I wouldn’t be able to get it anytime soon anyway. So maybe an addition for the new year. Speaking of new year additions, and the shipping debacle, my new corals will all be pushed to January. But I have some really nice stuff coming that I’m excited about, especially my anniversary presents, a Super gold torch and an orange Julius Millie frag. The tank has been running smoothly since I got the heater and alk situation ironed out, my new little mocha storm clown Hurricane (‘Cane) has moved into the old green tipped torch, and all the fish now get along, ‘Cane having been mostly accepted into the harem. He’s got some growing to do, but he’s a feisty little eater so I’m not too worried. Boudicca the blood orange queen of the tank has started getting feisty about me having my hands in the tank, but the snotty hag keeps knocking the frag with my Orange Oxide zoas down to the sand bed so...... She’s about to learn what it feels like to get flicked on the nose. Otherwise, here is a FTS And some random shots of fish and the ginormous tiger cowries, Melvin and Millie Everybody have a great holiday season!!!! 2 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Sorry about your troubles Loses livestock like that sucks. Sounds like it is back uncontrol. Great pictures all the fish look healthy, Cane is cute. I hope you also have a great Holiday. 1 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Monthly Photo Dump Time!!!! So the big update for the month was that I finally got all of my orders in from Vivid, delayed due to the Christmas Covid shipping nightmare. I got: Dragon’s breath (didn’t ship well and already dead 😞 ) Peach branching hammer (looks fantastic) Vivids Larry Taffy acro Vivids grafted setosa (also fabulous looking) Red green Wellso from CoralsAnonymous (more rainbow) Vivids Ultra Gold Torch (going to be a stunner) Vivids Orange Julius Bicolor Branching hammer (also great looking) Vivids Superman goni (see picture below) Rim of fire zoas Vivids Green Flash zoas Ultra red wellso from Vivid Out of those, since there’s an unwritten rule evidently that says something must always die from any order, I lost the dragon’s breath. I guess I’m not destined to have that particular acro, since it’s the second one I’ve lost now. The fish have been doing well except that the blue star leopard has developed odd hours and a proclivity for hanging out on the sand, at the glass. She seems to have lost some weight, but isn’t tachypneic, and isn’t emaciated, and eats like a hoss. So it’s a bit perplexing. She still swims and responds to the other fish, but I’m a tad worried about her. I have a really obnoxious GHA and bryopsis outbreak, even with high magnesium levels. I know the nutrients are always on the higher side, which the LPS seem to really love. I’m pondering lettuce nudibranches, which I fear may turn into wrasse snacks, or a rabbit fish, which may eat stuff it shouldn’t. In the mean time I just keep manually pulling the algae out and tooth brushing everything. The system has been running super stable and hasn’t required a water change since November. I quit trying to grow macro algae in the sump because once again I failed. I *may* go for more cheato but haven’t decided if it’s worth the hassle. The mangroves I put down there ARE doing well, but I read that you have to have a read forest of them to do any real good, and I only have 10 babies. So who knows where I’ll go with it. And that’s pretty much it. As part of our family New Years resolution my husband and I made a deal that if he drinks alcohol, I get to buy an expensive coral. Like a trade agreement between the nation of Wifistan and Mexisposoland. So far I’ve got this new trade agreement to thank for the new red/green/rainbow-ish wellso from CoralsAnonymous and I’m eagerly awaiting the next slip up so I can visit their shop again!! They have some amazing stuff there. Kenya tree Mr Nosey Butt Face (a.k.a. Butch Cassidy) New ultra red wellso Trachy love Kinvara the blue star leopard Drogon being suspicious and watchful New red/green/rainbow wellso Rhaegal the never seen Ember blenny. I have no idea what this is- I got it at my LFS that sells amazing corals and they didn’t even know what it was. But it’s turning out to be fire 🔥 Some Jason Fox zoas with a nosey clown New ultra gold torch next to the Aussie Gold. I feel like it’s going to yellow up even more over time but it’s still striking and pretty New super man Goni. This will be a stunner when it grows up. 4 Quote Link to comment

I wish they grew a bit faster. I have it next to a darker pink one. My goal is to have lots of wavy corals in there with all the torches and gonis, hammers and frogspawn. Got that clown harem to keep happy 3 Quote Link to comment
