ECLS Reefer
Confession time, and people may want to tar and feather me after but I dont care. I set up a large QT for the fish after the whole incident (now six weeks back). Im not sure what I did wrong in there but, it was something and the fish looked worse in QT than in the DT. So the survivors I moved to the DT. They’re all doing super well and we are staying in the smaller fish range this time- no more tangs. Clowns Flame angel Yellow coris wrasse Blue Star leopard wrasse Starry blenny Ember blenny Blue mandarin Green chromis All of this current crop but for one baby clown are eating amazingly. The baby is evidently eating as well I just can’t see it because he’s small- he’s in a breeder box for protection with a mate. Will have a regular leopard and a possum wrasse. When available will finish with a pair of pearly jawfish. I’m a renegade what can I say. 2 Quote Link to comment
Cannedfish
Hot damn that's a good looking piece of coral!! Regarding fish... I probably wouldn't have been able to go even as long as you did... 1 Quote Link to comment

I probably wouldn't have been able to go even as long as you did... I did keep a timer on it. And I did isolate them, but whatever I did to the QT was a no no and it became a problem of needing them in a whole new tank or something until I figured it out. So I said screw that I'm not keeping 10 tanks around and put them in the DT. And they got better. And eat better and seem FAR happier. So yeah back to my back habits. At least the end of my plan is in sight. Hardest thing to find for some reason is the party jawfish. Just waiting on my LFS or LA to get them (preferably the LFS since they’re far cheaper). I just made some room for it because it’s trying to spread its skirts out and that thing is not 3inches. It’s more like 4-5 inches. Biggest thing in the tank now that the elegance pooped out. 1 Quote Link to comment

He only just started staying on the rocks and not the back wall so maybe in the next few days he will get bolder. 1 Quote Link to comment
ECLS Reefer
Few fishy shots today after a water change. Hadn’t changed the water since August 1st. The tank looked fine but I wanted to scrub a bunch of GHA off the rocks and knock the nitrates down a little so changed out 15g. Not too shabby. New possum wrasse Eddie- has been like watching for a unicorn since he went in but he’s getting braver. The leopard sisters, Bastet II and Kinvara Flame angel, yellow coris wrasse, snowstorm and gladiator clown, green chromis. Couple of coral shots. Since we have another tropical system coming this weekend we finally managed to get our hands on a generator! The fish are saved! Photobomb by Bobo the amazing Aussie. 4 Quote Link to comment

debbeach13
Great fish photo's. You can have some beauties in that size tank. The leopards and that yellow coris wrasse are stunning. 2 Quote Link to comment

After the tang-tastrophe I’m letting the blennies do the grazing work and staying with active more peaceful fish this time. The kids and husband wanted more clowns so we are going to try having 4 and hope they split the length of the tank. Quote Link to comment

All oscellaris- one snow storm/flurry, one gladiator, one regular oscellaris and waiting on a long fin mocha oscellaris to arrive Tuesday. Had a baby mocha that would never eat and finally wasted away the other day. Tried isolating him in a breeder box, giving baby brine, selcon, garlic drops- nothing made him eat. Poor little dude. ☹️ Quote Link to comment
