Yup, they're from my acro buddy @pokerdobe, well the mama one was.  these are just lil babies, the big mama was beginning to show some red spots/streaks.  then, the mama let go and went thru the Nero a few times (a long while back), and now sitting somewhere in the center rock about the size of a dime, 😅.

Playing with the light settings and test the compatibility with iphone.  All photos are straight from iphone, untouched and unedited.  Trying to show that different light settings can affect the outcome of your image, sometimes drastically.  ok, so my glass is dirty, 🤷‍♂️

 

Hydra32HDs 14000K (60%); OR3 Blue+ on

Current settings: Hydra32HDs 13500K (60%); OR3 Blue+ on.  10 hours midday light at this setting.

I think to me disco implies multiple color spots, which I’ve seen with radion-lit tanks. Just single color, flickering “shimmer” here. Hydra clusters are way tighter together than radion.

 

*edit: but yes, I imagine a diffuser would do something similar to smoothing out the light making it look more T5-like.  I don’t have preference one way or the other, they both have worked great over my old tank.  I’m just more interested in the raw power of led and on its adjustability for this tank

For those who’s been following, I think the tank is about a year old this month.  Acros are finally showing progress both colors and growth.  Maybe I’ll try a long-format write up of how things went in the past year.

figured those might get your attention.  But, unlike yours, these are not gems.  what you see is here pretty much their colors.  the pink one has a little more orange undertone with more blue light, hoping it'll turn out similar to the orange clam.  
 

they're $10/frag wholesale lot that my LFS got in last week.  he's lucky he got the color mix that he got for that price, imo. here's the whole lot in one shot (he used orange filter)

For that price, those are really nice! As I’ve witnessed, sometimes the colors can morph on them, so you never know what you may end up with. I picked up one last week from the LFS that’s showing some real potential.

I don’t think you stopped following, but more like I haven’t posted a whole lot of late.  
 

just a little over a year in:

>  two bouts of cyano in 2021

>  lost two maxima clams

>  lost two nice new scoly pickups

>  lost all torches
>  Altho not all at the same time, I thought all 3 losses may have something to do with bacterial infection

>  acros had picked up significantly since switching to the new light setup at the new year. Especially more so in the past month or two as I’ve ramped up the hydras - which are now peaking at 75% at 13500K for 10 hours

 

ok, that’s about the summary of the past 15 months of this tank.

No I didn't stop follwing the thread lol I just never check the thread when you post something. I will actually have my tank wet tomorrow and starting the cycle. So that will be cool for a change. 

 

 Sheesh,well hopefully everything stays steady and no losses from here on out.

Still around, just been very busy this summer to take good care of the tank…

The digi is getting a lil ridiculous in shape, but that tabling acro is def as dreamy as it looks.  The rainbow chalice is not bad on the eyes either

Thank you!  they’re sure taking their slow time. I’d like to see more growth out of a few other pieces on the frag rack, but they may just require a permanent placement on the scape
