505nano
Please help me with a quick question. I have a canister filter on my 54g that was turned off for a month and I just found out tonight. I was trouble shooting it and as it turned on it release a horrible smell I'm pretty sure is hydrogen sulfide. I cleaned the filter and media and added more carbon but the smell is still super bad. Is this bad for my family ??? What do I do? Thays my priority right nowm fish seem fine so far Quote Link to comment
Humblefish
Water changes, increasing aeration, dosing an iron supplement and running GFO + carbon will all help. I've posted some links below with more info. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-12/rhf/index.php#10 http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-12/rhf/index.php#14 Full article: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-12/rhf/ 2 Quote Link to comment
