neyes_ice
what would be the differences other than price? are we only paying the brand name? any body used either? marco has that liquid additive other than water being added to the cement. planning to a add a scape with dry stax rock and adding it to a running system. MainelyReefer
Consider these two products too, a plastic that is malleable at 110+ and solid at reef temps. I built my rock work using this in the reefs and my freshwater. Love this stuff it can be worked in a tank with zero side effects. Both products work the same though the fauna Marin aquascape fix has a smaller elliptical shape which heats up faster and more evenly than the larger circular pellet that reef welder is. However reef welder offers options with color blended in for a more natural look Out of the gate though I cannot attest to their quality as I’ve only used white. If adhering a flat surface super glue may help once the plastic has set and let go it will be a wedge/mold that you can glue in place perfectly. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Makes me wonder if you've read up on DIY rock yet? Can't be added to a tank without lots of pre-processing. Check these out if you haven't already: https://www.garf.org/class.html https://reefs.com/2011/06/30/building-hollow-rock/ @Paul B's excellent book has guidance for making rock too: The Avant-Garde Marine Aquarist I think all of those sources mention some info about selection of cement, etc. 1 Quote Link to comment

mcarroll
Your question in the title and opening post appear to be about cement not rock. I referred you to those articles because they talk about using cement and aquarium. 👍There are some issues on the cement side and on the aquarium side to be aware of. Quote Link to comment
