Reefi labs DUO Extreme

I purchased this light after reading Dana Riddle’s post about it on Reef2Reef and chatting with him about it. It will be replacing two Red Sea Reef LED 90s on my Waterbox 24” cube.

Were you not happy with the reefleds or is this just a better light?

 

Never heard of them, but checked out the website.  Will be interesting to see how they do.

I was happy with them and had

no real reason to upgrade. I did miss being able to control Individual channels though.

Yeah, I think that's the biggest complaint on the reefleds.  The experienced reefers want more control.  

 

I'm surprised we don't point the newer folks to the reefled 50 when they ask about lighting.  Everyone always says prime.

 

If I'm not mistaken they are about the same price and would probably help a lot of newer reefers be more successful lighting wise.

I highly agree, they are really great lights and are wonderful for beginners. Even being in the hobby over 20 years and having prior LED experience, I found it a bit overwhelming when I was programming the new light earlier today.
