nanoketchum
I got a 30gal and was thinking of a fuzzy dwarf lion to be the main guy. Who else would you put in? Ive heard they are relatively peaceful just dont touch them obviously 1 Quote Link to comment
RedCrow
The problem is that they will consume anything that they can fit in their mouths, and their mouths are huge. So there’s no open-water fish that could happily live in a 30 gallon whilst being large enough to not be swallowed. Your options for other fish would be something that perches like a hawkfish or a groucher. Possibly a larger goby like a watchman 2 Quote Link to comment
Tired
Peaceful, sure. If it doesn't look like food, and most things do. You'd need something nearly as big as the lionfish will be, for the lion to not have a go at it. IMO, stick with just the lionfish (they're messy), or get a hawkfish that also gets that big. 2 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Lionfish eat fish equal to their size so anything that can fit in its mouth(huge) will end up as a meal. 1 Quote Link to comment
