neyes_ice Posted May 3, 2020 Share Posted May 3, 2020 current setup is in a holding tank standard 10 gallon everything is there, live rocks corals, fish, bio media and no sand. will be building a new tank 16 g cube thinking of adding sand to new tank, then do a transfer from the holding tank. what can i expect if i do this? side effects? Tired Posted May 3, 2020 Share Posted May 3, 2020 Agreed. New sand is inert, and shouldn't add anything. If you're really worried, you could always move everything over, then put the sand in a few handfuls at a time. Be sure to put some significant divots in the sand where you want to put the rocks. It's best to have your rocks resting on the bottom of the tank, not on the sand, so burrowing animals can't shift anything around. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
