@Dirté Sanchez - I think you're right on the monti ID.

Purple Rim Montipora Undata Coral

^That is how my monti currently looks like - except the green part is brighter. But mine does have the white polyps, and the purplish/pinkish rim. Kinda cool.

Thanks for the ID! 🙂

It’s a pretty monti- I’ve pondered buying it more than once.

I forgot to add - since Midnight had Ich, this tank will go fishless until September 30/2020. (Slightly more than 76 days - figured an extra day or two wouldn't hurt).

If I change my mind and decide to try out a fish again for this tank, I'll probably acquire it some time either in early or the middle of Sept., and I *will QT it downstairs, in the library, until I can safely add it to the DT.

I've see this tank chug along perfectly fine without a fish, so tbh, fish aren't really *necessary for the pico (although I'm not opposed to getting one in the far future).

I think I'll just try to find a really nice nano-sized crab and shrimp (a second one - small species) for the tank.

These were the options I was looking into:

1. Crab (pick *one) :

-Porcelain Anemone Crab --> quite common here

-Gaudy Clown Crab --> very, very rare find

-Pom pom crab

2. Shrimp (pick *one) :

-Candycane Pistol Shrimp --> Always tags along with goby, will try to see if I can get a hold of a separately-sold one

-White Spotted Anemone Shrimp --> quite common here

-Sugarcane Shrimp --> Often mistakenly sold as Peppermint Shrimp

-GCBS (Zanzibar Shrimp) --> I loved mine in the 60G until it passed

-BCBS --> rare find, haven't seen this in years

-YCBS --> Also rarely sold here

Also, I'm down to 53 coral types because I did lose some zoa frags. And I think I also lost my God of War favia (I can't find it - it's literally MIA). 😞

So I have a bit more free space on the sandbed. I might return my green galaxea from the 60G back to the pico, *or add another zoa frag...*or even get more shrooms. I haven't quite decided yet. 🤔

Yeah, it is! Hope you do get one. I enjoy my montihat very much. 🙂

I hate to say it, but after Midnight died overnight, I noticed my fungias and leptastreas had full PE again. 🤐 :

That isn't the only thing. It looks like my BCG had been nipping on my acans too. They've lost some heads, but now that there isn't a fish...puffy acans...? 🤐 :

So, uh. This is...good?

Sorry about midnight. He had some problems from the start. I don't think he would have lasted as long as he did at the store. That's great news about the zoanthids and all the other corals. Do you still have the other BCG in the sump?

The other BCG is in the nano and has been missing since yesterday. I think it's gone too. 😭

Pox free, but this area is now bald and has no polyps. Hoping for a comeback and regrowth:

Hmm. My cyphastrea developed a bald spot overnight. I think it could be kH-related, but I'm not entirely sure: 🤔

Green weeping willow toadstool is slowly angling up. It's sideways now, but it used to be completely flopped over just last week. It appears to have grown a little bit as well:

Sorry about the gobies 😕

They arrived really sick. I honestly don't know what I was expecting - a miraculous recovery? Sigh. 😞

That's the main problem with wild-caught fish - most of them arrive unhealthy or malnourished. I'll be much more careful when I select small fish in the future. But tbh, the coloration of these gobies made it very difficult to see if anything was wrong with them, until they were actually in my tank and directly under my lights. 😕

You can start a small one and just go with it. I honestly didn't expect this tiny tank to be able to host so many different types of corals, and yet somehow it does. And it does make me happy, despite the troubles I've encountered. 🙂

Ah screw it why not, I have to change the water on the rock I'm keeping cycled today anyway.

Has Harvey caused any troubles? I've been looking for a shrimp that's not overly likely to bother everything like cleaner shrimp will. Does he steal from things when you feed them, or pick at anything?

He only picks on fallen pellets or microalgae. He doesn't bother any of the other livestock or corals otherwise, from what I've observed.

The AOGs have actually fused with the Tubbs blue & peacock frags. It's currently the fastest growing zoa in the tank, and I love the 'mat'-like effect it has on the sandbed. 😊

Purple death palys remain the fastest growing paly, and possibly the fastest growing coral overall.

I still haven't done a WC. Was too busy setting up a canister filter for my eel tank outdoors. 😄

Thank you! Tank is healing up pretty well. I'm still waiting for the blasto colony to full regrow and recover. 🙂
