mipster
Well Little Blue didn't make it... I don't see any changes on the clowns, watching closely but they are still doing well so maybe I'll end up in a management tank. Only time will tell at this point. To some they are just fish but it's never any easier. 4 Quote Link to comment
Tired
Poor lil guy. My sympathies. They're an animal like anything else with bones, so they deserve some sadness when one dies. They deserve the same respect as any other pet. 1 Quote Link to comment

Not my nano-reef peeps though - you get me. The tank is looking pretty darn nice these days minus the ich now being in there and the aiptasia invasion. In terms of the ich, my clowns are thriving, doing great - no signs of anything wrong. I'm going to keep adding garlic to their food just as a little something that I can do. I'm also not going to add any fish until I can take the clowns out, QT them (need to see if I can find copper - totally driving to the states when they finally open up the land boarder lol) and let the tank go fallow for the 72 days to make sure it's not in there any more. But for now my little couple will hang out and rule the land on their own. One thing that is annoying with where my tank is, it's by a window and so I can't get good photos without a reflection until it gets dark out! But oh well lol Looking at this angle, I need to move that frogspawn I think... Hey guys, doing good? They are finally leaving the new duncan coral alone! They loved the first one so much, he wasted away to nothing. I'm talking like chewing on the duncan level of love. I think all the leathers take away from the attention they were paying the original duncan that I replaced. I love watching these clove polyps grow, they are so speedy and it's fun to watch it snake across the rocks. Also notice the baby trochus snail on top of the frag plug? It makes the cowrie snail look huge! lol 2 Quote Link to comment
gena
It looks like there's a chair in your aquarium LOL. I have to fight with reflection too. Quote Link to comment

I'm actually tempted to put some pulsing xenia back here, it's nice low flow so they should be able to really have the nice pulsing movement which I love. But I also know how they can be a pest so I have to think on it more. What do you guys think? 2 Quote Link to comment
gena
Go for it! I have some anthelia in that same back corner and it's loving it back there! Quote Link to comment
mipster
Tank is trucking right along, nothing major going on to be honest. I got a few little pieces to add in but otherwise it's just puttering along. This little toadstool is finally starting to develop its stem, what a lil cutie New blasto that I put in the back corner. I got some interesting advice that blastos like dimmer light and so far it is thriving! Every time I look at my tank, I look at allllll that space around my current tank thinking ... I could get something bigger on here.... lol dangerous thoughts to be having! Another hobby of mine is Bonsai trees and it's funny how similar the two hobbies are. Light has to be right, PH levels in the soil, nutrients, and an artistic outlet 2 Quote Link to comment

less than bread
Nice bonsai! I was into that hobby for a hot second 5 or 6 years ago. Really like the, I want to say ficus??? (bottom picture, middle left). Exposed roots are really cool. Quote Link to comment

It's one of my faves but also one of my more developed bonsai. Most of my others are very young without much work done on them yet. 1 Quote Link to comment
mipster
Honestly I've been really happy with how everything has been coming along. There are a few more places that need some attention and a few more pieces but things have been looking very nice. The one thing that I really need to take care off is adding more sand and getting rid of the larger bits of sand that became discoloured and make the sand look messy and ugly. In order to do that, step one is to get those zoas on the sand bed on the left off. I'm going to trade them in I think but some of them are actually stuck to the glass on the bottom of the tank so that will be fun it get up. I've got some straight razors to pull the out. I have to wait for my partner to be there though. I need him to play defence against my lady clown! lol I think I need some mushrooms to go by the toadstood on the bottom left and I think some cyphastrea would be nice on the right rock around those leathers. My reading tells me they like lower light so that would be perfect for them I think. 4 Quote Link to comment
mipster
Does anyone know what this is? I mean, this is nano-Reef, I'm sure someone know. It's been in my tank as long as I can remember. It never causes any issues except for the occasional snot trail. Quote Link to comment
A.m.P
Vermetid snail, you should probably try to kill it with kalk, superglue, or just scrape the entirety of it + the base off your rock as they can spread and become nuisances or injure you if you're in the tank bare-handed. It would be easy to just snap it out since it's as large as it is, probably much easier then trying to glue it shut. Quote Link to comment
Ratvan
Does it move and how does it feed? Quote Link to comment

They can actually get pretty large, could be different species reach different sizes and have different rates of reproduction. That would explain why they're awful for some folks and not even an issue in other people's systems. 1 Quote Link to comment

I think it feeds by using the snot trails actually. It looks like it puts it out like a fishing net and pulls it back in sorta if you look really closely for a long enough time. But I'm not 100% sure on that. I might time to do a time laps video to get a better look. 12 hours ago, A.m.P said: They can actually get pretty large, could be different species reach different sizes and have different rates of reproduction. It's been over a year for sure and I've just never paid it much mind. 1 Quote Link to comment

Cause I'm already dealing with that with one pest, I don't need that with another type lol 1 Quote Link to comment
