QuintonT10
Not sure what kind of baby shrimp this was, I was thinking a pistol shrimp or a mantis shrimp, or maybe even a baby lobster. Anyone have any ideas? Also how to I take care and maintain him until he grows up? Quote Link to comment
mitten_reef
Pistol shrimp, not sure what kind. He should happily accept meaty food like brine or mysis shrimp. Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
My wild guess is a green pistol shrimp Quote Link to comment
QuintonT10
Thank you, I tried feeding it crushed up pellets, should I go out and get brine? Quote Link to comment

I think mine used to come out and grab pellets too. Oh, they like digging burrows and tunnels under rocks. Fun little critters. Quote Link to comment
Lypto
If you have cocktail shrimp or frozen mysis try putting a little bit near him. Pellets should also work great. Quote Link to comment
ChromeVyper
That is totally a pistol shrimp. Get a small goby and drip acclimate them for atleast 1 hour to force them to pair then from there on they will build a burrow and be together until the end 😁 I have a tiger pistol shrimp that I paired with a watchman goby and now they are inseparable. Had to move them both to my pico because they schemed against my wife's sand sifter and killed it. I feed them a little sliver of frozen mysis/brine blend from the frozen cubes you buy at pet shops. Tamberav
FYI not all pistols pair with fish. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tired
It's some sort of pistol shrimp. Looks like a green pistol, but hard to tell at that size. IMO, put it back- they're easy to bottle trap out if you really need to remove one, and it should be harmless enough. If you hear clicking noises, that's him. To feed it, just put food in or near its burrow. It'll find the food and pull it in. Quote Link to comment
