Yeah another kick in the nuts, especially with tomorrow being what would have been my mums 61st so not the best timing. But what you going to do? Worse things happening about the place at the minute. On the upside might see if I can swing a larger system, 30 Gallons ish. Still want a sebae or clarkii 1 Quote Link to comment

Ratvan
@debbeach13 lights just come on I love this one's split face, love the green on yours though.. Do they sting each other? Asking for a friend? Full tank shot, feel I need some more rock or something, less sandbed? Have flow excavation in rear left corner I stuck that skeleton at the front to stop the same thing happening This machine taking a well earned rest, currently CuC is this guy and a toothbrush Hammers, starting to colour up 2 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
My knowledge of the elegance is from live aquaria lighting moderate to high, flow medium, placement bottom, and aggressive. So when it arrived I sat it on the sand bed as a center piece then moved the power head so it didn’t blow away. Quote Link to comment

I placed the macro in and jiggered around with the pump until I liked the movement and went with that. 1 Quote Link to comment

Have flow excavation in rear left corner I think it looks good the way it is. I know it's tough to keep the sand bed from blowing away in certain spots in these small tanks. Can you diffuse the return pump flow a bit? Maybe aim it upward more and and directly toward the front glass? Or just get more corals to diffuse the flow!! 1 Quote Link to comment

It's aimed at the topish centre of the front glass, the rock ledge makes a sort of down current into that corner which is cool but irritating. If aimed elsewhere or higher I have a saltwater fountain. I could turn it down a little more but then the hammer retract from lack of flow. I like the idea of more corals. I could also move the larger red grape rock and the Elegance between positions and have more shading in that corner.... Few weeks until next payday so plenty of time to think 1 Quote Link to comment

I figured I'd try the fewer but larger and more focused approach this time around. Shame I can't find any branching Hammers at the moment. Also keeping it Aussie as well, change it up from the Indo corals so shopping is harder but more rewarding. Also I hear that Aussie LPS are hardier, not sure how much truth is in that but looking forwards to finding out. Fish ideas? How would a nano goby and shrimp fair? Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Just remember the shrimp could be very active stirring up the sand. I had one that was a real land scrapper so I could not have many corals on the sand bed. I also had one that once he built his burrow he only came out once in awhile. Just hung out in the opening. Love watching them. One on the most entertaining pairing IMO. 1 Quote Link to comment
