Hi,

Can anyone help please, I bought Promiscuous Black Clown Fish a few day ago. It was swimming and breathing fine but now it's starting to breath very rapidly, not eating like normal and swimming in place majority of the time.

Can anyone please help!!!!!!🐠

No signs on the fish, the tank is 1 1/2 months.

Thanks for replying so worried!!!

Did the tank cycle?

Any ammonia present.

We can't really help without much more detail.

It could be a parasite, bacterial, lack of oxygenation, ammonia presence.

Yes the tank has cycled as we have 0 Nitrate and now we are going to test the ammonia. Do you think the ammonia is the reason why the clown fish is acting like this?

Also we have an issue with brown algae not going away and out of the tank. There are brown algae on the corals as well and is this the cause of the bright lights being on for so long? Should the lights be on blue LED or Bright LED all day?😅

Thanks

0 NitrAte is no bueno.

Test your ammonia and Nitrite and make sure those are at 0.

NitrAte should of be between 5-20 in my opinion after a tank has fully cycled.

Brown Algae can be multiple things. Diatoms? Dinos? etc.

Post acouple full tank shots with some close ups on the algae.
