Would ALK consumption be lower with larger volume of water?

I recently upgraded my IM10 to IM20.

In the IM10, I saw a weekly consumption of ~1dKH

Now in IM20, I see a weekly consumption of ~0.3dKH (exact same frags and a few additional)

No other changes in light schedule, feeding etc.

Sure the corals are probably getting settled in before initiating full consumption for growth but would the increase in water volume have any say?

Yep on both.. the more water volume you have the slower the alk/ca/mag will drop. Assuming you have the same corals in there.. just like if you have the same water volume and add more coral all your levels will drop quicker

Ditto.

E.g. If you take a drink out of a 10 oz glass of water and a 20 oz glass of water, you have more left over in the bigger glass.  The drink you take is the same on either one.
